I was wandering if anyone could point me to some documentation on creating a pop up in M$ excel.
Basically I have a template that I created that multiple people open throughtout our network. When I make some changes on the template I would like a dialog box to pop up the next time a user opens it and let them know what has changed. It would be nice if they could check in a box, don't tell me this again so the message could be automatically disabled by the user. If anybody has insight, would greatly appreciate it. L |

Hi
A pop up of this kind, where the user checks a box would need to be a User Form. Although if they disable the box, how will they know if further changes have then been made? What sort of changes are you talking about here? By the sounds of it you would need to re-type the message text every time you made a change. Is that practical? How about just a simple message box that opens at the start and advises the user which version of the template they are now using? You could then have a general Change Log available to all users on a network drive that they could check for changes. Or perhaps a Change Log within the template itself? Just some ideas for now - let me know your thoughts.

OK, but there is still the issue of the checkbox - if users check it, the message will never appear again and they won't be advised of any future changes unless you constantly amend the code. I would therefore suggest you keep it simple - the message pops up every time the file is opened. Now this has a potential drawback in that users will just click OK to get rid of the message without reading the text, but perhaps that's something you just have to live with.
Can you tell me your experience with VBA code?
