Confused access 2003

i don't want anyone to do my homework for me, i'm just confused on something and maybe someone can just point me in the right direction.
when i'm in access and i'm trying to do a relationship between two tables, when i hit the relationship button, nothing shows up? i made sure that both tables had at least one record that matched but that didn't seem to help. i even tried using access 2000 and 2002 but nope.... just any ideas at all?

The Relationship table will be empty until you show tables on it and then indicate the type of relationship there is between the tables.

Click the Relationship button. In the blank window that appears, right click to bring up the context menu and then select Show Table. Add the tables that require a relationship.

Then match the fields up.

That should be enough to get you going without doing your homework. Good look with what you're studing!

Make sure you are matching up the correct fields.

In the relationship window, you need to drag from one table to another to link the fields together. Just drag and drop on the field name.

You should see a join line, if you did this correctly.
