Outlook 98

I've been using 98 without any problem for years. I recently moved and for some reason it is not working but all other programs are running normally.

When I start Outlook, the program initiates to the point that I can see the logo, task bar, my name and the product ID. After that it hangs and eventually I get a "Program Not Responding" message.

The only possible problem that I can identify is that I plugged my PalmPilot in to re-charge and HotSynch. I left it to charge and returned to find that I had killed the Palm Pilot - I plugged my router power supply into the Palm charger by mistake. I don't see why this would kill Outlook though.

I tried un-installing and re-installing Outlook. Got similar results. I set a restore point and brought it back.

Questions:

Will all my contacts get killed if I replace Outlook 98 with Outlook 2003? I have several hundred contacts.

Should I buy a new Palm Pilot to HotSynch it and hold on to my contacts there?

Help Mr Wizard!!!
