Deleting SPAM from Outlook 2002

I switched from OE to Outlook 2002 and want to know how I can set similar rules for deleting e-mails, like I used to in OE.

If the subject is "Delivery Status Notification" I want to DELETE it on the server before Outlook 2002 pulls it in..

HOW CAN I DO THIS??? or at least stick it in my delete folder???

Go to Tools -> Rules Wizard. Here you can build your rules.

As usual, communication problem...

I appreciate you pointing me to the rules wizard, but don't you think I checked that out already??? I already explained that I was successfully using OE and had filters set up. When I CONVERTED to Outlook 2002, these filters did not convert or export over, so I am trying to create them again.

I did consult the link to MS Outlook web site but, through their article, it is only allowing you to MOVE them to the deleted folder. In OE I was able to DELETE the SPAM crap off the server BEFORE it ever arrives into my OE.

So, can anyone give me a step by step instructions on how to get Outlook 2002 to DELETE the SPAM that I have set the rules to do this, and how do I configure the rules???

Thank you..

First off, there was no mention of Rules Wizard in your post.

Looking at all the options it provides, there seems to be no way to apply the rules conditions before downloading. So, you're looking at applying the rules to newly arrived messages and letting them download.

So, start the Wizard, select "Start with a blank rule", and go from there. You'll need to set keywords for the Subject and/or Body.

This can get tedious. Why not try a decent Open Source spam filter like SpamBayes? It works very well, and learns quickly.
