VBA Editor Help crashing

This is not necessarily Office, but it seems to be the only logical place to post it.

When in a VBA editor for ANY application, Work, Excel, Access, AutoCad....anything that can use VBA and has an editor. If I click in a command like "MsgBox" and press "F1" my help window comes up fine. But when I'm done and "X" out, I get an error, and the standard message. "This program has encountered an error and needs to close...." bla bla bla.

From that point on, I can't get VBA help to open until I close that application.
AutoCad 2006 is a little different, in that it causes AutoCad to have a fatal error and crash entirely. Doesn't affect Windows XP pro though.

My best guess is that there is a problem with IE6. Anyone seen anything like this?

Thank you in advance!

Hi and Welcome to TSF

I am not familiar at at with what you are explaining but this sounds to me like its an issue within your Office program (Work, Excel, Access)
Have you tired to repair office?

Yes, I have done a repair on Office, but it didn't work. However, it also affects AutoCad 2006, which is not a component of Office.

Yes I realize that, if you feel IE is corrupt you can try to Repair or Reinstall Internet Explorer 6 and Outlook Express 6

Thanks for the help, but I guess I'm going to format and start over. It's a shame Microsoft doesn't have better ways to fix this. Because the computer runs fine otherwise. I'm only annoyed since I do alot of VBA programming in Access. Everytime I go in to my VBA help, and close, I have to restart Access to get help to work again. Very annoying. Thanks again.

You can try and Run the System File Checker

Go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:

sfc /scannow ( sfc if not reconized)

This command will immediately initiate the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files with which it finds a problem. You will need your Windows cd.
