Office 2003 Region Change?
I sometimes like to install my programs in Japanese because, well, some of my applications are originally in Japanese. However, when I installed Microsoft Office 2003 for the first time, I accidentally forgot to switch the regional settings back to English (United States). For this reason, my Microsoft Word now acts strange, somewhat like a word processor for the Japanese language.
I've tried to change it back by full uninstalls and then reinstalls, but there must be a .temp file still lurking around somewhere because the regional settings are still kept. Although this is not a HUGE problem, there are large differences between the U.S. MSWord and the Japan MSWord, mostly in spacing, bulletizing, etc. If someone could shed some light on how I would be able to set it back to normal, that would be great! Thanks. |

I have never installed another language, but if you think that completely uninstalling will do it, then likely you're not *really* completely uninstalling. The registry entries are probably remaining and you may need to remove them. Here's how to *completely uninstall* Office:

Dangerous in what way? Yes, it's dangerous if you don't follow the instructions, or if you don't properly back up your data files (doc's, xls's, etc.), or if you don't have installation disks...
If it were *really* dangerous, I would never make the article public. :) |
