IE Password issue
Recently IE has begun asking me for a username and password when accessing most web sites. Even the techsupportforum.com home page pops up a username/password screen. It seems to be asking about add servers, such as a.tribalfusion.com, pagead2.googlesyndication.com, or ads.digitalpoint.com. This has become unbelievably annoying. I have tried installing Firefox and got the same result. I tried tracing the issue, and it seems like it might have something to do with IIS, but I'm not sure. I installed Visual Studio 2005 not to long ago, which is what may have set this off. I have no idea how to fix this, and would appreciate any help that anyone can give. I REFUSE to pay Microsoft $35 to solve this, that is just stupid. Thanks in advance.

Didn't work
Funny you should mention, as I just got done re-installing Windows XP. Did not fix. I just did an upgrade installation, as I didn't want to lose my program information. As for spyware, I regularly use AdAware to clean it out, so not sure there. Any other suggestions?

Hi...
You can always try resetting web settings and restoring advanced defaults in IE Properties.... In IE, click Tools then Internet Options. Under the Programs tab click Reset Web Settings then remove the tick from the Homepage option unless you want that reset to default then click Yes then OK. Then go to the Advanced tab and click Restore Defaults. Also clearing out the cache under the General tab may be worth a go too. Hope that helps :-)
