IE serious problem

hey folks i have this problem with IE and netscape i think is active scripting like when i go to hotmail i can't see a darn thing and when i go to yahoo mail i cannot delete or press any buttons they don't work or if i go to photobucket the buttons for deleting an image wont work either and when i tried to install my dsl it didn't work cause i needed to enable active scripting trust me i did everything i enabled it disabled it everything i could think of also i updated to IE 6 still not working same thing like it didn't even updated when i go to HELP-->about IE it doesn't even sya what version or anything nothing and when i go to microsoft update it says i need to update to see the page which i already did cause i tried it again and it said a new version is already installed so i don't get this anyone here can help?

Go to IE/ tools/ internet options/ security/ trusted zone.
Click sites
uncheck the use https
click add a site
add
*.windowsupdate.com
*.microsoft.com
