trouble uninstalling Zone Alarm

When trying to uninstall zone alarm I get the error C:/windows/system 32/zonelabs/vsmon.exe could not be opened. After reviewing Zone Alarms web site, they say to start the program which also doesn't work on my computer. I believe this problem to also interupting my internet connection. After my pc is on for about ten minutes I lose the ability to surf or upgrade different programs(ex. ad-aware). I am able to ping web sites in a cmd prompt, but surfing is disabled. In order to get back online, I have to reboot. I also tried JV16 to uninstall as much as possible of the zone alarm, to no avail. I also tried reinstalling but I get a different error saying that setup cannot log into truevector service. It says to open service manager to shut down the true vector and restart the install program, however since the program doesn't open I cannot get to the service manager.

Please HELP
