Re-install IE without internet connection??

Hello all,
This is probably a stupid question but how do I re-install IE without an internet connection. All the downloads I've found require an internet connection. I'm running Win 98 SE.

Thanks in advance

Actually I dont think you do need an internet connection till after the install. Make sure you download the IE.exe to your desktop or another area where you can locate it easily. Get the exe Here

Then Download IEradicator

IEradicator is tiny, script that uses the Windows setup engine to surgically remove Internet Explorer versions 3 through 6.0 from Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium and Windows 2000(sr1).

(Not for use with Windows 2000sr2 or Windows XP.)

Then locate the exe and install. After you get it installed connect to the internet and update your system using the Windows Update Site

If you have no interenet at all to even get the .exe have a friend place the programs on a cd for you to use.

Thanks for the adviceTJ. I won't be able to give this a try till Friday. This is on my fathers machine. I'm trying to connect to his modem (verizon dsl) by typing 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. IE immediately says page cannot be displayed. Last night (before I saw your response) I tried installing IE 6 and I needed an internet connection to complete. So, I ran IE setup that was originally on the computer which installed IE 5xx. Now I don't know if IE 5xx is compatible with verizon dsl. I will try your instructions above and see what happens. :)
