Favorites gone

I have an whole group of user who lost all their favorites.
The only unusual thing that happen was that a trainer was giving a class about our call program and he tried all the group policies creating some scripts to find out which policy was applying to the group. I assumed he overwrite a policy or something like that.
How can I get the favorities back ?

Have you used windows explorer to check the various favorites folders on one of the computers to see if one of them still has the favorites there?
