Confused Explorer pages load slow/not at all

Hello,

Hope someone can help.

A friend of mine had probs/virus with her computer. She got it fixed but had to reinstall the modem driver. This was done and computer is working fine, apart from explorer.

The computer can connect up fine to the ISP. But when she tries to view a web page it won't load up at all, even though the computer is dialled up fine.

Have checked settings etc., but everything seems fine.

If someone could help, that'd be great!

Welcome to TSF

On the top bar of IE go to Tools>Internet Options and delete cookies and files then on the programs tab click on Re-set Websettings... with the XP CD in a drive go to Start>Run and type sfc /scannow (a space is needed after sfc) press Enter key and allow the file checker time to replace any damaged or missing IE files.

Let us know how things go.
