Cannot Find Server DNS Error Internet Explorer

Good Morning :)

Thanks for letting me join your forum :) I am hoping that some kind sole can help me with my IE problem.

First let me say that I dont know a whole lot about the inner workings of a computer. But this computers "inner" workings is really making me crazy -lol-

My IE gives me the above error 8 out of 10 times and it only does it on my profile. I've run Adware, Winsockxpfix, Spybot, Spyblaster and the Mcaffee scan and nothing seems to work.

Help.....

Check the link below and see if you may have been infected by new.net parasite. This thing installs with RealOne and Kazaa and others, and it has the potential to cause the problem you are experiencing.

Hope it helps,

I would do an online virus scan. I use www.antivirus.com
Make sure you click autoclean.

If this does not find anything, try Microsoft anti-spyware beta. It found stuff the other 2 missed. I am sure it is either virus or spyware.

If you need to post back, tell us what kind of internet you have. Also your OS and version would be helpful.

BMR777 & Terrister :)

Thanks so much for your help. IE is still showing me the same message. When I right click on the properties it shows me this.

res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm#http://www.google.com/

Does that mean anything? Oh and I have the Windows XP and cable for the internet. I can conntect using AOL with no problems. It's only IE thats being tempermental.

Thanks again :)

Do you have a router or are you connected directly to the cable modem?
Do you use a software firewall?

Are you running any antispyware programs. If not I suggest you download spybot and ad-aware. Update both programs and scan with them.

Spybot download http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

Adaware download http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
