IE works again!

I got hit by some malware and adware about a month ago and in the process of removing it I did a WinXP repair. After that IE and Windows Media Player stopped working! For a month I have been without IE! But today I was prompted by a program called Spy Sweeper to do a full system scan. After doing it (it removed about 360 traces, whatever they are) IE and MediaPlayer miraculously started working again and I'm amazed and surprised and wonder if there's any connection between my having run Spy Sweeper and IE working again. If anyone has any idea how this miracle occurred, please let me know. Thanks! (In the month I was without IE I got very familiar with Mozilla and so at least I was able to surf the web.)

It was probably directly related to you removing the 360 traces of spyware.

I personally use firefox because it has some nifty features and it is all but immune to spyware.
