IE 6 SP 2 not opening target or pop-up links
This is very strange when clicked on link that is a target (opening new window mostly) or a pop-up window, browser would stall for around 30 seconds. Then nothing happens.
I have run hijack this, maybe there is a problem. Log file below. Anyway any help will be greately appreciated. It has happened on SP1 and doing al the updates including SP2 did not help at all. Virus check brings nothing, Spybot search and destroy shows nothing as well. Thanks. Hi,
The XP SP2 has a built in pop up blocker for IE. You have three options for resolving this issue: 1. You can disable the pop-up blocker by opening a IE window...then go to tools>pop up blocker>Turn off Pop Up blocker. 2. Another way is go to tools>pop up blocker>pop up blocker settings. go to the bottom and change the filter lvl to either medium or low. 3. If u want the pop up blocker to be on and at a high filter lvl, hold the Ctrl key everytime u click on a link. I presonally recommend the third option because it blocks those annoying pop-ups. Reply back and tell me what happens. |

Thanks a lot
It is not the pop-up blocker problem. There are few other things causing this. I have already got some advise.
Anyway I would like to thank you since I was not aware of the Ctrl + click option for links. Thanks Again. Andrew |
