Cry connect can't browse issue

This is the situation :

windows xp service pack 2
using internet explorer
using that pc on stand alone , no router , pc connect directly to dsl modem

The issue : connect to the internet but can't browse

test done :
- route print 11 lines
- ping google ip :4 packets transmitted, 4 packets received, 0% packet loss
- ping domain name : unknown host resulst

What I already did to try to fix this issue
- run anti-spywares
- run msconfig
- delete winsock and winsock 2 in the registry and reboot
- reinstall winsock with the reinstallation of the tcp/ip protocol
- delete QoS packet sheduler
- run in dos : ipconfig /flushdns
- run netsh interface ip reset resetlog.txt
- run netsh reset winsock resetlog.txt
- delete the connectoid and create new connection in xp

NOW THE SITUATION :
- route print 11 lines
- ping ip : 4 packets transmitted, 4 packets received, 0% packet loss
- ping a domain name : unknown host result

BUT when I am connected to the internet I open internet explorer
- I type www.google.com the message page cannot be display appears
- I type 64.233.161.104 I have the google site
- but when I do a search in the page if I click on a search I have page cannot be display
- I try a few ip site and I can have the site but as sone as I but a normal address as www.google.com nothing

I do not want to format the pc ,I have to keep i.e. as the default browser
and no system restore possible to fix the issue

Sounds like a DNS issue. Maybe the ISP is having problems with their DNS server, maybe your PC has static DNS server address entered that are not valid?

For a test try these DNS servers: 68.100.16.25 & 68.100.16.30.

that's how to solve your problem

format c: ;)

sometimes it could be a problem with your NIC, is you have a usb port on your modem try it sometimes it worked with sympatico's user

sometimes it could be a problem with your synchronisation, you dont have full sync even if the ip work, try contacting your ISP and ask for lantern or whatever the call it, lantern is a sympatico tool
