IE picks up different jpeg ..Why ?

Hi, This is really odd .... I am accessing a friends public site and he sees that from one computer in his office he gets one jpeg displayed called home_pic.jpg which is of a red car. On another computer on the same page, the jpeg displayed is of different silver car.
The background is that recently (few months back) he was asked to remove the picture of the red car due to license probs, he requested the hosting company to replace it with a picture of a silver car in a file named the same.

I accessed the file on my laptop from home and the the car is red, yet from work (same lap top, same day) the car is silver !
I have cleared out temp files / cookies etc but still get the wierd scenario !

Can anyone shed some light on this at all please ..why would jpeg being displayed be dependant on where in a network you are accessing it from ?

The result i am after is to eliminate the red car jpg. Unfortuantly i do not have access to the host site yet to check out if the red car jpg has been deleted or not. Even so, there must be a reason for the switch ??

Any advice appreciated ....Jon

Go into the internet options, and under the "Temporary Internet Files" section click "settings" and select the bubble that says "Every visit to the page" and hit ok.

See if it loads the silver car from the laptop. It shouldn't depend on where you're from, but rather what file you have stored on your drive that it is accessing.

You could also run Cleanup! to make sure all your temp files have been removed.

I get the silver car in both IE and Firefox. That's pretty odd that you get a different car! I also get the sliver one on a 2K machine with IE.

Boy, we're SOL if we want a red car, and jonny_H can order both colors. I think we're the ones that should complain!

Have you tried just clearing your cache by just doing it in IE?

From IE - you could also view what is the cache folder.

(You will have to empty the cache in the account that you are having problems in. I just viewed the website - I got a silver car - attached is the pic I viewed)
Attached Images
File Type: jpg home_pic.jpg (7.2 KB, 2 views)
