Add ons

I have recently been getting the Internet explorer is currently running with add ons disabled message only to find that once I click to manage my add ons in IE8 they are all coming back enabled? I have Macafee Security suite with Windows firewall have checked and rechecked all my setting all seems to be in order??? IE8 will not run any of my media players while im online??? what next.

Are you using a Desktop shortcut to launch IE?

What is the target showing as? (right click the shortcut icon, click properties)

The target is listed as the IE folder in the windows program files. Which is where it's supposed to be I thought? Iv also done the uninstall and reinstall.

Navigate to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer and right click on IEXPLORE.EXE and make a NEW shortcut and cut/paste to your desktop.

Use it.

Does it still start as if the add-ons are disabled?
