all IE 6,7,8,losing connection

Had ie8 installed and kept having loss of connection problems,(keeps checking for connection problems). Removed...same problems with ie7....removed ie7,( %windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe),and did a clean re-install of ie7 ,and still does the same.
It's not the isp(roadrunner) ,been online with them ,all gone through, we read 100% on the browser.
This computer(my wifes) is on a wireless modem from mine...i have no probem on mine. I have ie8.
Like i say, good for 15min. at a time, then loses connection.
Any ideas ?

Do other internet applications also loose connection? or just IE?

Tried firefox and had the same problem.Got online with ms support for ie 8 ,since it's still free help till the end of dec., we disabled all addons, reset ie8 and it lasted about a day.
I went back to see if there were any addons running and found none.
This is my wifes computer and shes on facebook playing bejeweled alot,do you think that could be causing problems?
Seems to me i get it running good and in no time she's having probs.

What firewall do you have?

I have windows firewall turned off. We have CA Security (a freebee with roadrunner high speed) Suite, firewall-antivirus-spyware turned on.

Ok, 2 months of this ie bull is enough...tryed everything on the net..everything the commie MS so called experts have said. What forum do i go to so i can dump my whole xp and reinstall everything from scratch. Dont know if it's drivers or what. I've updated,reinstalled every concevable thing there is and nothings changed.
Just want to start from scatch...slide in the install cd and let it rip. Anyone got a site on how to do this correctly ?
If this dont work....stand outside your door....you'll hear it.
NEXT TIME IT'S MAC
