several attempts to open window

I'm not sure it's IE that is giving me the problem here so bear with me.

I am runnning IE8 on Windows Vista home premium.
When I try to open a window I often get nothing. It will say Connecting to....... on the information bar at the bottom with the loading bar usually stopping at 20% or so and gets stuck and will not open the window. It usually takes a couple attempts to open a window but will open eventually. It doesn't always do this but I would say more than 50% of the time.

It usually helps when I delete cookies and reboot but it always reverts to this problem. It's been doing for this for a long time now, procrastination, and I can't remember if it did this with IE7, I think it did.

Any ideas?

Really lost here. Anyone got any ideas what to do?

I can't seem to uninstall IE8
I found some instructions on how to uninstall from IE8 from vista that said go to uninstall programs, vista doesn't intstall IE8 as a program but as an update so go to view installed updates. I can't find IE there and I don't know if that is going to do anything anyways.

No. And that totally pisses me off.

How to uninstall IE8 - IMG
Look at the address bar if you don't know how to get to that page, than go to "View Update History", find IE8 and uninstall it.

Thanks, really appreciate it.

I uninstalled IE8 and have been running IE7 for a few days to see what happened.

It seemed like it worked at first but it is now back to the same problem of occasionally having to try several times to open a window.

Should I reinstall IE8 for any reason?

What's the problem with my computer opening windows?
