Confused Help

hey guys

am trying to run an old hp computer (about 2002-03) BUT it has no internet browsers intalled...

trying to d/l and install explorer but cant install due to system req.

have xp home but have no idea how to even check what i have let alone how i'd go about upgrading.

currently cant even d/l msn or run something as simple as shockwave games

if someone could give me some idea other than buy a new computer it would be much appriated!!

Just curious, but how are you able to DL IE? Do you have the windows disk that came with the box? If so, it will have a version of IE that is compatible with the machine.

As far as upgrading -- not worth it. I saw a laptop at the local "national electronics retailer" for $279 -- NOT a netbook, but a NOTEbook. With prices like that, you would spend as much on an upgrade as your would to buy a new box.

If you can't make anything work on the old machine, you're stuck.
