[SOLVED] DNS error - unable to connect to any site

Hi,

I'm unable to browse the web using Internet Explorer. On opening explorer I'm presented with a white screen, in the top left hand corner "DNS error" is displayed.

My connection is still working as updates are still being downloaded.

Would appreciate any help.

You can go to start > run > type 'cmd' > then type 'ipconfig'

and post the result here

On the same window, you can also try 'Ping www.google.com = post result here
and try 'Ping 74.125.53.99 = post result here as well

ArmaTheGreek, thanks for taking the time to respond to my plea for help.

I have managed to find a solution to the problem I was having with explorer by comparing the settings with another computer.

Under internet settings within the connections tab, LAN settings, an option to use a proxy server was selected.

After deselecting this option I'm free to use the internet again :)
