IE and firefox won't run!
On my laptop, both IE and firefox run fine hardwired to the net but won't open pages while wireless. I've tried to repair the ip adress several times and unplugged the router also. Any suggestions ? thanx vedderman

Re: IE and firefox won't run!
If IE and FF won't display any pages using wireless, it might be because you're not connected at all. Have you entered the correct WEP/WPA? and are you getting a message that says 'limited or no connectivity?'
You can also post your ipconfig here so that we can see if you have a good connection go to start > run > type 'cmd' > type 'ipconfig' > post the result here using wireless

Re: IE and firefox won't run!
Thanx for the quick response. Unfortunately, I don't have a wireless router at my house to test it now ,but when I did go wireless it said I had connection and the signal strength was excellent.Everything was working fine and then firefox wouldn't work and then a couple of days later ie wouldn't work.

Ok, we need the IP address just to make sure you're getting a good connection.
Just post back here with your IP address and we'll see what's wrong.

Re: IE and firefox won't run!
Can't seem to find an ip address. I've picked up another wireless signal but it asks me for a network key.Should I assume that I have to be near my own router to get the ip address and then report back?

Re: IE and firefox won't run!
Did you setup for a wireless password on your modem?
We need to make sure we are connected to your modem not on someone elses modem. ![]() You don't have to be near on your router, just make sure we're connected to your device. (and make sure you're not too far as well, you might not be able to detect your modem. )

Re: IE and firefox won't run!
Unfortunately , I am too far from the place where I have the router so it will not detect the modem.Double unfortunately, I do not have eth. access at that location,so I have to check it there and then respond here because I am on a desktop right now. I hope that makes sense..

Re: IE and firefox won't run!
I am happy to say that the problem is fixed! It ended up being a faulty cable line, which I thought I checked! Sorry to have wasted your time but thanx again for your help!
