Cry Please help---IE8 performs too slowly!!!

I just downloaded and installed IE8. I am curious about the new explorer. But it performs too slowly. It takes about 2 minutes to access any Web site specified. Why is that? How can I correct this issue? Do I need change some settings before starting with IE8? Many thanks to you!

Re: Please help---IE8 performs too slowly!!!

You can try optimizing IE8 by going tools > internet options

then delete cookies, temp files, history, forms, password

then go to connection tab > lan settings > make sure nothing is checked

then go to security tab > make sure everything is on default

then go to advanced > restore advanced settings

then go to programs > manage add-ons > check if there's any unnecessary addon that you can disable (you can list them here if you'd like to)

you can also try disabling 'phishing filter' as an option.

Re: Please help---IE8 performs too slowly!!!

ArmaTheGreek, thank you so much for your instructions.

I have followed most of them except the last one to disable my add-ons.
Most add-ons in the list are frequently used. After changing those settings, I checked the result, and it seems a little bit better than before. But not that well as I expected. I am deciding to return to my previous version IE6.

Thank you so much for you nice help all the time. I really appreciate.

No problem Kathy, going back to IE6 would be my last option.
