virus question

My stepfather has windows xp with IE 8.0 he has a message that comes up that says web site blocked we click on ignore and continue it will redirect to a page that says order a virusscan program we uninstalled (he has mcafee on there now). Is there anyway to fix this? Mozilla firefox works fine, btw.

Whats the complete message you receive?
Where is he trying to go when he gets the message, what site?
What is his homepage, try resetting it.

Possibly he was infected and still is, the security team can help you with this. We cannot assist you with infected systems in the Microsoft Support Forum.
