IE 8 cannot display the webpage

Hello

I have windows xp sp3 e-machine with 448 GB RAM DSL with gateway 2wire modern.

Navigating with explorer seems fine except for the advertisement windows and some secondary links. For example when I open my e-mail and click on other links displayed by the messages, most of the time, I get “internet explorer cannot display the webpage” another good example will be when I open outlook express 6 the advertisement part is missing and the error is displayed instead. The same situation goes for real player, yahoo games, and other programs and links. Google main page used to be like that. All sponsors ads were gone, but not any more.

In my search for a solution, I proceeded to attempt some fixes but I was not able to resolve. The followings are some of the options I tried:

-Uninstalled and re-installed java (also updated to the latest version).
-Deleted cookies, temps, and browsing history.
-Reset IE
-Run system restore
-Run ccCleaner
-Run ATF cleaner
-Run malwarbytes (not infection found)
-Run spybot (not problems found)
-Run mcaffee full scan (no problems found)
Everything seems alright with the pc including the internet.

Please help!

Do you have the full release version installed?

Re: IE 8 cannot display the webpage

Did you do any Microsoft/Windows updates recently that may have caused it? You can check updates from update.microsoft.com.

Same here.
Identical problems since I decided to move from Google Chrome to IE8 with IE7Pro.
