[SOLVED] IE8 won't work, but other browers do. (Shocker, huh?)

I have used Safari, Firefox, and Google Chrome without a problem. But for some reason I can't get IE to connect to some websites and it continuously gives me an error "And add-on for this website has failed to run." I'm pretty sure its flash, but I have flash installed on the computer and the site (www.indians.com) works find in the other mentioned browsers. Also, it won't on windowsupdate.microsoft.com so that I can try to run an update.

Any ideas?...

Try disabling all add-ons and see if the website will work and check will add on is causing the problem.

You can also try uninstalling IE8 and go back to IE7 and see if everything works normal there then re-install IE8 and see if it will work fine.

Re: IE8 won't work, but other browers do. (Shocker, huh?)

I have to use Firefox to go to any Internet site. When I click on the MSN icon, I am told to check the spelling, cannot find site. Same with Facebook, etc.

When I downloaded IE8 Beta, months ago, there seemed to be a conflict created which did not allow me to use IE7 or IE8. Just used Firefox. Remove both IE7 and IE8 and downloaded IE8 several times and still have problems and cannot find IE9 to use it.

Should I just delete IE8 and return to IE7. I am using Windows XP.

I got it to work. After playing with security settings and add-on configs, I just got fed up and set everything back to default. Works fine, actually had to do it to another computer today too, so it came in pretty handy.
