IE8 error
I had my system hard boot while IE8 was running. I am running XP.
When I tried to bring IE8 up again, I received a message that it had been shut down improperly and it asked if I want to continue where I was or go to my home page. Neither option worked. I uninstalled and reinstalled IE8 several times, and I received the same error message each time. I also tried uninstalling IE8 with PC Uninstaller and then using Registry Mechanic to clean the registry and reinstalled IE8 - same error message. I tried the above process and installed IE7 and still receive the same error message. Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: IE8 error
I found the problem. In the Systems Tools folder of the Accessories folders I found a Internet Explorer icon that will open IE without Addons. When I used this IE8 would open. Then I was able to access the Addons Manager. I disabled all of the addons that I had recently added, which were all Google apps. Must have been some conflict, because IE8 seems to work fine now.
I will need to enable each app that I disabled to see which one caused the problem. |
