internet explorer issues
i have a work computer that won't connect to the internet thru a browser. windows live messenger works, and i can ping websites thru the cmd window. system was working fine until new it monitoring service downloaded an update to sentinel. however, i don't know if this is the issue as other computers in the network downloaded this and they are fine.

Best thing to do is check IE's proxy settings etc. Because if it's IE only then it's an IE settings problem/the update messed with something, i suggest attempting to roll back the update.

The problem i have with it is that msn works, and ping works, so it's not a network problem. Have you tried windows update? (could have something to do with drivers on your computers side).
Apart from that i'm unsure. Sounds software based. |

Hmm, yeah i don't see why msn would work if the rest wouldn't. Could be something to do with the protocol (http)... But i don't see what could have messed it up.
All i can suggest is win repair/update then possibly installing a different browser or something similar. |
