IE8 Cipher Strength.
While having a discussion with a friend of mine, he asked why my cipher strength in IE8 is 256-bit, and his is only 128-bit. I don't really know the answer to that, but after looking on this page https://www.fortify.net/sslcheck.html it tells me my cipher strength is only 128-bit. Yet it clearly says in the "About Internet Explorer" page, my cipher strength is 256-bit.
So who is right here? Is that site giving me a false reading, or is IE8 not telling me the truth? I am running Windows Vista 32-bit with SP1, and my friend is running Windows XP 32-bit with SP3. |
