Re: IE8 hungapp
Hi -
Have you recently installed any add-on 's lately or any plug in 's ? If so, which ones? What is your exact version of Internet Explorer? "1. C:\DOCUME~1\James\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER907d.dir00\iexplore.exe.mdmp 2. C:\DOCUME~1\James\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER907d.dir00\appcompath.txt" Could you go a head and make those both attachments and I'll decipher them for you. |

Re: IE8 hungapp
Thank you for your quick response.
There are no new add-on's or plug-in's The exact version of IE8 I was using is; version 20090308.140743 Since my first post I have uninstalled IE 8 and currently using IE 7 version:6.0.2900.2180-xpsp_sp2_gdr.090206-1233IC. Cipher strength 128 bit. I would like to use IE8 and I have not reinstalled SP3 yet. |

Re: IE8 hungapp
I was also experiencing several occurences of 'IE8 hung app' on my pc.
I didn't think I had any add-ons. I noticed that very often, when I would get the hung app message, it would be when IE8 was opening a new tab or a new window. I noticed that I had the google toolbar and I was using it, and somehow I had the ask.com toolbar installed, but not checked in the View > toolbars from the menu bar. Both toolbars had been installed in IE7 so I did not consider them to be 'add-ons', but apparently they are. I went to Control Panel and I un-installed both toolbars and now IE8 is quick to execute and I have not encountered any new hung app messages. hope that helps |
