documents in internet explorer history
Internet Explorer is adding any document I open to its history. If I list by order visited, recently opened documents appear among recently visited web pages. If I list by site, the documents are listed under "My Computer".
The problem arose recently, after some registry edits. I have restored the registry to its pre-problem state, but the problem is still there. The issue affects all users. I am using IE 6 in Windows 2000 sp4, but I have seen the same problem in a few forums with IE 7 and/or Windows XP, and so far, no solution. Any advice or ideas would be appreciated. |

Re: documents in internet explorer history
try clearing all the history:
Clean TEMP files Click Here to download ATF Cleaner by Atribune. Save it to your Desktop. Go to your desktop and double click on ATF-Cleaner.exe. Main Under Main. Click Select All, then click Empty ---------------------------- If you use Firefox, click Firefox on the menu bar Click on Select All, then click Empty Note: If you want to keep your saved Passwords click No on the prompt. ---------------------------- If you use Opera, click Opera on the menu bar Click on Select All, then click Empty Note: If you want to keep your saved Passwords click No on the prompt. |

Re: documents in internet explorer history
Thank you for the suggestion.
Unfortunately, cleaning all caches doesn't help; documents opened after a clean get added to IE's history. It also doesn't matter whether or not the browser is in use at thie time - documents opened with nothing else running show up in IE's history the next time I open it. |
