Missing Some Favorites Folders

Some of my favorites folders are missing. I have checked the other folders to be sure I had not moved them by mistake. I recently installed Panda Internet Security 2009. Could this have caused my folders to go missing?
I have also noticed since installing Panda that my system is running extremely slow at times.
I really had a lot of important favorites saved in one of these folders. I checked the documents and settings folder and it is the same. I have also looked in my recycle bin.
Do you think if I uninstall Panda the folders will reappear?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
