Cant download :'(

ok i just installed a new windows about a week ago im running windows xp - windows 7 vienna service pack 3 according to my computer (right click properties ^^)

i have been trying to download a few things from microsoft ((i.e. .net framework, gpmc, etc....)) as well as many other programs from places like amd and mcafee

i can surf the internet fine play games, surf pages, check email, and even download pictures and games from bigfishgames.com ((the only things ive been able to succesfully download))

when i try to download any of the programs i am looking for:

IE gives me the cannot display this page error and suggests i diagnose connection problems but when i do it detects no error with my connection and suggests that the page is probably down ((can two big dogs like microsoft and mcafee's download pages really be down 9 days solid with no posted notices anywhere??))

Mozilla firefox tells me that it cannot connect to the server at download.microsoft.com, download.mcafee.com, etc....

if anyone has ever heard of a problem like this please help im at my wits end ive tried everything i can think of and nothing has worked.....

o and before anyone asks because i know its comming

yes my windows is activated and genuine
yes i have called my isp and they recommended buying a new computer

and finally

yes i did a reformat and reinstall of windows and the problem is still going on

any useful advice at all would be greatly appreciated!!! ((and no "switch to linux or mac" is not usefull advice.... good advice but not usefull lol))

Solution: 1: Create restore point and take registry backup.
2: Delete all unwated software's, and toolbar, security software's. from program and feature.

3: Delete all temp files.
4: Disable all unwanted services from startup and then delete from registry.
5: reset internet explorer and register all .dll files.
6: scan with spyware removal and hijacthis and trojon removal tool.
7: Restart the computer and check windows update. if found and then update.
