Hello. I have a hp laptop with windows vista and its been running fine until the past few weeks. First microsoft word started playing up (it opens but then crashes, it won't open documents of any sort) and then my internet. Flash player won't install, it just says that its completed when the installation hasn't taken place and i'm still not able to view online videos or play games. Also, today, I close down internet explorer after deleting my browsing history, and my icon disappeared. I still have an internet connection but no icon on my desktop or toolbar. I also no longer have an explorer icon in my start menu, instead I have a globe, which when I click displays the message: 'The item you selected is unavailable. It might have been moved, renamed, or removed. Do you want to remove it from the list?'
The only way I can access the internet is by logging into MSN messenger and opening up my emails to get onto an explorer page. Please help! I've ran a virus check on two different programs and nothing has been found! |

Re: Internet icon disappeared and unable to install flash player
Go to my computer then click local disk C from there click program files and open Internet Explorer folder you will recognize the blue e icon for IE simply right click it and select either create shortcut or send to and from the send to menu select desktop.
You can also select pin to start menu when you right click on the IE icon. Hope this helps. |
