IE won't connect

I had a virus a while back. I removed it safely but now my internet explorer 7 will not connect. I connect fine to the internet with both google chrome and firefox. I have tried reseting to defaults and reseting the connection settings. I have also uninstalled and re downloaded the file. This is really becoming annoying because the features of Windows media center and other programs are being compromised. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: IE won't connect

Problem solved. Apparently even if you reset all the settings to default it doesnt change your proxy settings. So if anyone has this problem just make sure the proxy connection box is unchecked.
