[SOLVED] Ie * Rc1

Installed this, on Kim Komando's recommendation btw, on XP SP 3. Reset IE 7 first to original settings. Installed IE 8 RC 1, restarted. The browser blinks on then blinks off. Tried resetting, running without add ons (I had none anyway). No change. Why?

Re: Ie * Rc1

Good question. I have the same problem after following the same reset procedure.

Re: Ie * Rc1

Ok, here is how I think it was resolved. I tried one more time to uninstall IE 8, but this time it said it was missing a file, so I figured I would reinstall and then uninstall. This time it told me that it was unable to uninstall, and asked if I wanted to install another copy that would not uninstall. I said yes. I did not restart. This time IE 8 worked! I have yet to restart--afraid IE will go bad again. But if it does work then the problem is solved.

As with any BETA programs there are still bugs

Its a compatability issue with Norton. Norton has posted a response here at
