Can't Enter sites with un and pw
I'm using Firefox right now as IE7 won't let me log onto a site that requires a username and a password just like this forum. I use Vista Ultimate SP1.
This is what happens. I enter the correct u/n and p/w and I appear to enter the site because I get the "welcome" message , but then I am immediately kicked back to the login page. this occurred before I changed to IE7 and actually was the reason I changed. Firefox and Google chrome both allow me to do the above. I looked through this site and tried the few things I thought might work including the iedll.bat download. Initpki.dll was the only reg entry that failed on that fix. I've set the security and privacy settings to their weakest with no change. i've deleted all cookies, passwords, cleared the ssl slate, temp files etc. Surprisingly I am able to access a VPN site with a user name and password and also my stock trading and banking site which probably use much higher security terms or encryption. I really like IE7 as it is faster and has more options and would love to use it but I belong to lots of forums that all use basically the same signup and login pages and am currently not able to log onto any of those. Thank you for any suggestions. |
