IE7 history issues
Hello i'm helping a person with an issue with their browser.
They recently came home and now their URL drop down menu has a huge list of sites they've never been to. Pulling up the history via Ctrl + H shows the couple of craigslist ads they've been to, then all the sudden it shows all these other sites. my personal recommendation is to have him get HiJackThis and run some scans and copy/paste the results here. He is going to be watching this thread, so if somebody could please post up a link so he can download HJT (hijack this) and instructions on how to use the program and post up HJT logs here, that would be greatly appreciated. The results he posts will assist you guys in further troubleshooting. I am unfortunately unable to assist him with this issue, for liability issues (i'm at work), so any help would be great. If anything i will follow up on this tonight if nobody has responded by the time i get home to link HJT and a how-to so he can get some logs. In the interim - off the top of your head what would you guys be inclined to think? Spyware of some sort? That's where my mindset is heading... thanks guys! |
