IE won't open new windows (and worse!)

Whenever I click on a link in IE that would normally open a new window, nothing happens. If the link would normally navigate within the same window, I'm fine, but if a new window is called for, I'm out of luck. I can't even right-click a link and choose "Open In a New Window"... nothing happens!

And if that's not bad enough, I have a similar issue with MSN Messenger. Normally, if you click on the link that opens your Inbox, it opens a browser window and shows you your Hotmail Inbox.... but I get nothing.

It's as if my browser has become an Popup Uber-Blocker and won't let ANYTHING pop up (even legitimate windows).

WHen it first started happening, I immediately checked everywhere I could think of for popup blocking, but I have all that disabled. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled IE, but that didn't help. I've also tried posting my HiJackThis log and it was found to be clean... no spyware.

I'm out of ideas. Hopefully one of you might know what I should try next!

Thanks in advance,
Kevin

My System

Go into Internet Explorer->Tools->Internet options->Advanced tab and scroll down to the Browser category and try unchecking Reuse windows for launching shortcuts to see if it will work now.

For the Outlook Express problem, go to http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=256953
