Problem accessing a website

Hello,

Colleagues on another forum have no problem accessing a particular website (searchable archive of that forum) but I cannot get to it.

I have tried disabling Norton Internet Security as well as Windows Security Center -- in case they were inadvertently blocking it -- but still doesn't work.

The address is: avid.investsystems.co.uk

Any ideas why others can reach it but I can't? What other settings might be blocking it from my end?

Thanks.

David

Hmmmmm......tough to say. I just successfully viewed it.

Perhaps you could try an IE Repair, just to be sure nothing's wrong with your browser.

Hi CTSNKY,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I don't think there is a problem with IE per se, as all other websites I try to access appear to work fine.

Are there any settings you are aware of that might be causing this one site to be blocked inadvertently?

I think it uses Javascript. Try installing the latest Java client software:

Otherwise, unless you have specifically blocked it with one of your spyware/internet filtering apps, I'm at a loss.

At my broadband ISP forum they discovered that it is a DNS-related problem at an upstream provider.

I managed to get access to the website using my dial-up from another isp, which meant it was not actually a problem with my computer or security settings.

Still don't have access yet via broadband, but apparently the unblocking needs to be done somewhere along the isp chain.
