I am having some major craziness going on with Internet Explorer. This all started when Norton Internet Security died on me. While going through Symantecs troubleshooting I was told to fix I.E., but in doing so I think I jacked it up. I tried to revert to older settings but it failed and ever since then I get some of the following behavior:
I can not type text in any of the text fields on websites. Some of the links or buttons on websites do nothing I get errors that not knock out Explorer and I have to reboot Some other strange behavior: I can not see anything under my control panel, but it says there are items in the folder Other folders on my hard drive will not show files, but I know they are there since I can open the files using other software programs I can not navigate into some of the folders on my computer In addition, Internet Exploror does not tell me what version it is and what encryption level it has and locks up when I bring up the about screen. I have scanned for viruses and for spyware using Yahoo's software, but nothing. I find it hard to believe that all this craziness could not be caused by a virus. My only other thought is I need to figure out how to do a clean install of internet explorer. Thanks, Agamemnon

Please download HijackThis - this program will help us determine if there are any spyware/malware on your computer. Create a folder at C:\HJT and move HijackThis.exe there. Double click on the program to run it.
1. If it gives you an intro screen, just choose 'Do a system scan and save a logfile'. 2. If you don't get the intro screen, just hit Scan and then click on Save log. 3. Get HijackThis Analyzer and save it to the same folder as the hijackthis.log file. Run HijackThis Analyzer and type in y if you agree. The result.txt file will open up in Notepad. Copy the whole result.txt log and post it in the forum. We do not need the original hijackthis.log (unless we ask for it). Do not fix anything in HijackThis since they may be harmless.
