Can't find Internet explorer program to delete it!

I bought this Toshiba notebook on Black Friday 2007. It came with Windows Vista and Internet Explorer. At some point after that I downloaded a beta version of IE8 and it screwed up the program already installed, so I tried to delete the program and go with Mozilla. Now I want to install IE8 and the installation program tells me I already have a previous version on Internet Explorer installed and need to delete it before continuing. The problem is that I can't find the program to uninstall it. Anybody got any ideas?

try installing it from windows updates
