Certain websites won't open via IE

Hi All,
A week ago, I noticed that whenever I clicked links via google or attempted to manuallly got to a website, I would get the the error mage" The Page cannnot be displayed" .Certain sites work (yahoo, google, MSN, etc),..certain sites don't.

Resolutions teps taken:
I had IE 6 initially & I had upgraded to IE 7.0
1.Deleted cache.
2.Ensure path was correct under"Folder Options"
3. Rectified the entry in hosts file.
4. ran the several reg.dll files such as (regsvr32 shell32.dll0) rebooted the system

Still the same issue. I have Win Xp Sp2 installed.

Please!!! Help Me!!!

Yes..the same problem occurs with Mozilla Firefox that I have on my PC,ver 3.0.4

Click Start => run type in CMD press OK. When command prompt opens up type in Ping www.google.com and press Enter. Please copy and paste the results back into this thread
