Flash10a.ocx crashes

Ive been getting an error regarding Flash10a.ocx which then causes IE7 to crash and close. This is the message I get:

Code:
Internet Explorer has experienced a problem with an add-on and needs to close.

The following add-on was running when this problem occurred:

Add-on Name: Flash10a.ocx

Company Name: Adobe Systems Incorporated

Description: Adobe Flash Player
I am running XP SP3.
How can I fix the problem?

Re: Flash10a.ocx crashes

Flash Fix (.osx)
  • Click Start, Click on Run
  • Type into run:
  • C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
  • Click Ok
  • Copy the Flash9.ocx file and then paste it back in the same directory.
  • This effectively will give you two files; Flash.ocx and Flash9.ocx, both the same file; although with a different name, in the same directory.

If that doesn't work try this:

Flash fix 9 (FlashUtil9b.exe)
  • Click Start, click Run
  • Type this into run (or copy and paste)
  • C:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash,
  • Double click on FlashUtil9b.exe
  • Follow the prompts and then restart your computer.

Laugh Re: Flash10a.ocx crashes

If you click on tools then go to manage addons - then enable-disable addons and go to "addons that run without permission" you will see on the far right column of enabled addons, a file that is simply .ocx I deleted this file and my computer has not had one single problem since. I have not had to reinstall flash player nor has IE crashed a single time. Hope this works for some of you...this thing has been driving me crazy for days. BUT NO MORE.... GOTCHA FLASH10A.OCX !!!!!

My flash player now is version 10 already and I don't think I can go back to the older version. I am not sure if I could still get the version 9 online. I need help because I am getting the error message everytime I am trying to watch videos from you tube.
Thanks.
