Google searchbox problems

On my old laptop/current desktop whenever i search for something using the google searchbox on internet explorer, the google website, or basically any kind of searchbox a sort of dropdown menu appears of searches I have previously made eg If i type 'co' it will come up with things I could mean eg 'computer', but only things I have previously searched for.

This doesn't happen on my new laptop, can someone please tell me how to change the settings so that it does?

I don't want full predictive text, just previous searches.

you need to sign in with your google/gmail account for this to work
