IE will start freezes uopn opening

I downloaded beta ie8 and found out not many sites recognize it yet. So I had to uninstall. Now I go to start ie and it freezes will not open all the way. If I resart the machine it will open once but not a 2nd time or if the machine sits for a while...

I am now using firefox but problem is many of my sites will not recognize firefox either. So all I want to do is go back to using ie and stop trying to keep up with technology...

I am running vista...

I did try to go to MS site and reinstall ie7 but the above problem is the result..

Any help?

Can you open IE in safe mode:

Click Start, All programs, Accessories, System tools and click on Internet Explore (No Addons)
