Active x HEEEELLLPPP!!

hey guys.....
i seem to be havin problems with active x. im using windows xp tablet edition.i have a toshiba protege 3500....it came standard with the norton anti-virus program. everythin was working fine...untill i unistalled norton anti-virus cause it suckkss!!!...
ne wayz afta that my internet explorer keeps on getting a error message( the send ,dont send one) and my windows media player doesnt open( it says due to an internal error).....and any time i open a P2P application it asks if i want to activate active x...if i click on yes.....an error come and if i click on no the error comes.....ive tried everything from downloadin direct x9c n flash mx2004 to searchin for patches on the net....
If any one can help me with this problem i'd greatly appricate it...thanx...
