The only way I could see this working, is if you open media player classic, and set it as the default media player. That way it will run all media files that it supports automatically.

If you open the player there should be a setting in the options that says something to the effect of "Make Media Player Classic my default media player" or a list of file types to associate with that player. You may also need to go into windows media player and go into the options and tell it to not associate itself with those file types.

Now that I'm home I can show what it should look like.

So if it's a streaming video IE tries to download it?
There is an option, Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Multimedia (scroll down that list of stuff),that says "Play videos in web pages" check and make sure that one is turned on. p.s. I didn't even check the webinterface option in the media player and now I'm at work till 5:00. If this ^^ doesn't work I'll check it when I get home.

I can tell you why that didn't work, but I can't tell you what it did on mine (because I'm at work and I didn't try it yet).
It didn't work because localhost is your computer and :13579 is a port number. Obviously if you don't have that port specifically opened, it is closed. I've never gotten MC to open in an IE window. It always opens MC seperately and the IE loads a blank page
