IE 7 and 8 says ' Detecting Proxy settings'
After Interent Explorer has been used a few times and then closed and reopened it says detecting proxy settings in the bottom right hand corner. And you can't change websites, however long you leave it, it will not go away. You end up having to restart and it will be ok. I download IE 8 trying to solve the problem but it does the same, Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks |

Might be some type of malware. Try this program.
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com...mbam-setup.exe More information about the type of internet connection would help. 32 bit Vista SP1? Hope this helps. |

Re: IE 7 and 8 says ' Detecting Proxy settings'
Scan has now completed and it has found 2 Backdoor.bot files and they are both registery values. I am removing them at the moment. If the problem stops I will report back. Thanks for the help.

Re: IE 7 and 8 says ' Detecting Proxy settings'
Bit of the same problem again, Instead of at the bottom saying 'Detecting Proxy settings' It now just says for example If I want to go on Google it says, "looking up www.google.com." And that all it does nothing else, however long i wait still the same again I have to restart for it to work.
